An army veteran and infantryman who began his career in the fashion & footwear industry post exiting the service in 2005, Shawn C. Rhoder founded his first clothing label in 2006 at 22yrs old d.b.a., FRESH. This set off an experience filled journey of 8+ years culminating in interning for menswear designer, Mark McNairy in NYC and the opening of s|c|r - a men's fashion, footwear and accessory retail space in San Antonio, TX. Through s|c|r, working with Mark McNairy and the end-to-end processes of developing the store's private-label goods, to include the McNairy menswear line, Shawn learned the in's & out's, do's & dont's of business and product development.
nohmad™ derived from the invaluable and irreplaceable economic lesson of losing money while opening a physical retail space at a transitional point in fashion where consumers dove headfirst into the right now | mobile-first economy. Shawn then immediately realized immobility = irrelevancy.

Coupled with being a book worm, these elements aided in greatly furthering his value in the discipline of understanding the ancillary elements that are required to execute a business objective with surgical precision.
The sketches and concepts of the rohver™ & nohmad™ app began in January of 2015 while successively attending cosmetology and barber school.
He looked at ways he could bring himself to his clients no matter where they were without sacrificing his services or his tools.
